"Rocket" - Eastern screech owl

Why the name?
Because of his ability to rocket out of his cage!

Rehab history
Arrived in Winter 2015.

This male red morph Eastern Screech Owl was hit by a car in the Winter of 2015. He could not be released due to severe loss of vision in both eyes.

Rocket is adapting well to his new life as an RCV education bird. He is always a favorite at presentations. His tendency to remain a little puffy makes him look larger than he actually is.

Rocket enjoys escaping from his cage as fast as his little wings can carry him but is often befuddled by his surroundings once he actually stops flying... which makes him easy to pick up.
